Gwalior:
A post-graduate student of the Government G R Medical College in Gwalior allegedly committed suicide taking an overdose of sedative, according to the police.
Arti Achre, who was doing PG in Anaesthesia, administered herself an overdose of a sedative late last night in her room in the college hostel, they said.
Her neighbour raised an alarm when she got no response after knocking at the door. The security guard of the hostel then forced open the door and found her lying unconscious with a syringe and a bottle of an injection (sedative) lying near her, police said.
The student was rushed to the Medical College Hospital where she was declared brought dead by the doctors, they said. Police found a suicide note from her room but declined to share its contents.
College sources said she was having an affair with a medico of the institute and was upset after he married some other girl.
Last night, Achre had a long discussion with him over cellphone on the issue. Her mobile was seized by the police.
