Hajipur: Rs 3 lakh looted from bank at gun point

Hajipur: Armed miscreants looted Rs 3.05 lakh from the Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) branch at Rajendra Chowk in Bihar's Vaishali district and shot at a guard injuring him critically, police said.

The miscreants stormed the OBC branch and looted the cash from the bank officials at gun point before shooting at a guard in a bid to escape, the ADG (Headquarters) PK Thakur said.

One of the miscreants was later arrested by a police patrol party. Rs 3 lakh and a country-made pistol were seized from his possession, he said.

The injured guard was rushed to PMCH at Patna for treatment, Thakur said.
