Delhi: Two persons in Delhi who claim to have exposed a sex racket allege they are being harassed by cops.

The Delhi police allegedly lodged an FIR of robbery against the two persons. The twist is that the duo had conducted a sting operation on a prostitution racket and had allegedly provided the video to the police. They now claim that the cops are harassing them in connivance with those running the prostitution racket. The police also allegedly kept their friend 'captive' for three days. He was set free only after senior cops and vigilance officials were approached.

The sting operation was carried out during the Commonwealth Games. Though local police has denied the allegations, MiD DAY has copies of the video and the FIR.

The sting operation was carried out by two persons, Naiem and Ravinder who were felicitated by commissioner of Delhi police Yudhvir Singh Dadwal, for exposing illegal mining operations in Narela area of outer Delhi.

According to Naiem and Ravinder, they had information that a sex racket was being run in Mansarovar Park area and decided to do a sting. They went with their hidden camera to the address (746, Janta Flat, GTB Enclave) on October 8 at around 4:20 pm.

Naiem was the first to enter. He was met by a woman who asked him to come in. After a short conversation she agreed to get him a prostitute and demanded Rs 3000 for services rendered to two persons. The amount was negotiated to Rs 2500. After the money was paid, the woman called a girl who spoke with Naiem. He was then taken to another room where Naiem made a video of his conversation with the woman and the girl. He then called his friends who were waiting for him outside and left for the police station. They wanted to handover the video to the SHO, but he wasn't there.

Instead they met Sub-Inspector Bharat and gave him the CD at around 6 PM. But instead of conducting raid at the said address, he just kept the CD. The next day the SI called them to the police station and said that the CD was not working. Deepak Gupta, an associate of Naiem, who had gone to the police station was 'held captive' for three days in the name of interrogation.

The police set Gupta free after Naiem and Ravinder made 18 PCR calls and informed the vigilance branch. But the cops forced him to sign a paper saying that he had only been detained for interrogation.

"Police are helping the prostitutes and want to arrest us. They provided the culprits a copy of the sting done by us," alleged Deepak.

When approached by MiD DAY, police officials denied these allegations. They denied having received any video but said they had received a PCR call by a person named Sandeep Saxena on the basis of which they lodged an FIR against two persons for robbery.

"Naiem and Ravinder extorted Rs 50,000 from the women and asked them to arrange Rs 50,000 more," said a senior police official. Incidentally, Sandeep Saxena is the son of the woman who was caught on camera by Naiem and Ravinder.

"On October 8 at around 5:30 PM two persons came to our home who said that they were from the media and wanted to interview us for CWG. Meanwhile, two more persons came inside. We resisted them for entering inside but were scared when they displayed a weapon. They made by mother stand in a corner of the house. On their demand my mother gave them Rs 50,000 and some jewellery. They demanded that we arrange Rs 50,000 by next morning and left. They gave us a slip bearing the name and number of one Deepak Gupta and asked us to contact him. They called me up at around 8 pm and asked about the money. We got scared and called the police."
