Chandigarh: The Haryana government on Wednesday approved a proposal to fund the extension project of the Delhi Metro from YMCA Chowk to Faridabad in order to provide Metro rail connectivity to the commuters in the state.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the state Cabinet in Chandigarh on Wednesday, an official release issued here said.
The Central government has given in principle, an approval for the project, it said.
A sum of Rs 130.80 crore would be the financial implication of this project. The Badarpur-Faridabad Metro line till YMCA chowk is likely to be completed by September 2014, it said.
