Heat wave: Morena sizzles at 49.2 degrees

Morena (Madhya Pradesh): The day temperature in Morena reached 49.2 degrees Celsius on Monday, compelling people to remain indoors and it resembled a curfew-like situation in the town.

With this, Morena has become the hottest place in Madhya Pradesh which is reeling under a severe heat wave, Weather Department officials said.

During the last fortnight, Forest Department officials had placed earthen pots filled with water laced with life-saving drugs to ensure that the national animal, peacock, did not die due to heat.
