Mumbai: Heavy rains lashed Mumbai, on Thursday, affecting road and rail traffic and causing water logging in the suburbs.
The rainfall recorded in suburban Santa Cruz was 94.3 mm whereas south Mumbai's Colaba received 83.7 mm rainfall, the Met department said today.
Train services were affected due to rains with many of them running late by 20-25 minutes in both Western and Central lines, railway officials said.
Water logging was also reported from suburban Malad, Vikhroli, Andheri, Kurla and Hindmata and Chembur in central Mumbai.
In a separate incident, a compound wall of a building collapsed at Andheri. No one was, however, injured
