Heavy rains on Thursday threw life out of gear in the city even as a person was electrocuted in the flood waters that played havoc with the vehicular traffic In Pune.
Low lying areas in various parts were inundated on Wednesday night as rain water gushed into many residential societies resulting in traffic snarls.
A 25-year-old youth was electrocuted in Vadgaon area while wading his way through the water that carried high voltage current from a nearby electricity pole, a fire brigade officials said.
Fire brigade men had to be called in to rescue the stranded vehicles and people caught in the downpour that lasted for about two hours during which 24 mm of rainfall was recorded.
