Heroin worth Rs 1 crore seized in Maharashtra

Kolhapur: Two youths have been arrested and 490 grams of heroin, valued at Rs 1 crore in the international market, seized from them here in southwest Maharashtra, police said.

A patrolling squad intercepted two motorcycle-borne men and a search revealed they were in possession of heroin worth Rs 1 crore, District Superintendent of Police Yashasvi Yadav said last night.

The duo, later arrested, was identified as Amar Sushant Mane and Ravindra Yadav, both local residents and aged 21, he said.

Five others have also been detained and further investigations are on, he added.
