Hot water thrown on boy in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: A minor boy received burns after hot water was thrown on him while he was entering a shopping plaza in Uttar Pradesh, police said. The boy blamed a shopkeeper for the incident but the police said it was an accident.

Seven-year-old Manohar, was injured wen he was entering a plaza to buy some candy at Ghazipur square in Mau district, 440 km from Lucknow.

The boy alleged that the water was thrown at him by the shopkeeper as a punishment for trying to enter the plaza in his rags.

Mau Superintendent of Police Vikramaditya Sachan told Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) that somebody accidentally threw hot water on the boy when he was entering the plaza.

He added that the police was probing the charges levelled by the boy and his parents but he ruled out the allegation that it was a deliberate action.

The boy's father rushed him to the district hospital after the incident. Doctors said that he sustained 30 per cent burns and was out of danger.
