New Delhi: The family of a businessman was drugged and his house ransacked in North Delhi today with police suspecting the involvement of a domestic help, who is absconding from the place.
The incident came to light when the family's other domestic help came to the house in Civil Lines around 11:30 am. She saw 53-year-old Anil Maheshwari, who owns a manufacturing unit of clocks, his wife Urmila, son Manish and daughter-in-law Tanish were lying unconscious in their flat in Ganpati Apartments and nine-month old grandson Aarav crying, police said.
The servant found the door ajar and there was no response to her repeated knocks. When she stepped inside, she found the businessman and others lying unconscious in the bedroom.
She then informed the the neighbours, who took the family to Sant Parmanand Hospital. The neighbours then reported the matter to the police, a official said.
Police suspect the involvement of the family's domestic help, Shambu, who was hired a few weeks ago and is absconding.
