Husband, wife declared siblings by panchayat

Rohtak: It is the end of a marriage for a couple in Rohtak as the village panchayat has declared them as brother and sister.

The man and the woman belong to Haryana's two prominent 'Jat' clans and consider each other to be related by ties of blood. The wife, Kavita, however, says she will continue to live with her husband Satish. The couple also have a son.

According to the panchayat's ruling, Kavita will be her son's guardian and the boy will also inherit the property of his father.  The man's family is still considering the panchayat's ruling.
