Hyderabad:
Andhra Pradesh excise personnel claimed to have busted a drug racket with the arrest of eight persons from whom a large quantity of raw material used for making drugs was seized.
The seized narcotic substance is worth several lakhs of rupees, a source in Prohibition and Excise department told reporters in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, the officials of Directorate of Enforcement Wing of the State Prohibition and Excise Department raided a lodge at Kachiguda area on Monday night and nabbed eight persons who were in possession of narcotic substance packed in sachets, sources said.
The arrested include suppliers, agents and customers, source said, refusing to divulge further details saying they were collecting more information.
A couple of rackets involving some foreign nationals selling cocaine were also busted here in the month of July and August this year.
