Hyderabad: Law catches up with fake doctor

Hyderabad: A man who worked as a doctor in several leading hospitals in Hyderabad by forging educational certificates was arrested by Begumpet police on Thursday.

Raj Narasimha, who studied only till intermediate, worked as a duty doctor in Apollo, KIMS, Image, MNJ Cancer hospital and other hospitals, besides as a nurse for some time, by forging educational certificates, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Zone) Nagi Reddy told reporters.

"Raj studied only up to second-year intermediate, but worked as a doctor by using forged certificates," the police officer said.

The fake qualification of Raj Narasimha came to light when he sent a proposal for second marriage. The relatives of the prospective bride checked his educational background and found that Raj, who is already married, has two children.

They also found that Raj had no required medical qualification and later lodged a complaint with Begumpet Police, Reddy said.

Begumpet Police further investigated the case and after checking his credentials arrested him today.

"I have done this (forgery) for livelihood and with no intention of cheating anybody," Raj said after his arrest.
