Hyderabad: Hyderabad Race Club (HRC) has sought Andhra Pradesh Government's permission to change the status of its vacant plot in Vijayawada to commercial from industrial.
"After receipt of approval of our request, necessary action would be initiated to file application with Vijayawada Municipal Corporation authorities requesting sanction to our construction plan for our Off Course Tote Centre (OCTC) and commercial complex on the plot," HRC Steward K Bhupal Reddy said at a press conference in Hyderabad on Friday.
He said the Board of Stewards have decided to conduct inter-venue betting on Delhi races at Hyderabad race course and HRC's Off Course Tote Centres. For this purpose, application has been filed with the Government of Andhra Pradesh for grant of permission.
HRC was looking for places to open new OCTCs in Hyderabad and other places. The club is also looking for a new location in Visakhapatnam to shift the OCTC, Mr Reddy said.
