Hyderabad:
A 28-year-old woman died of swine flu at a hospital in Hyderabad on Thursday, taking the death toll in the viral infection to three in the city this month, officials said.
The victim from Mahbubnagar district was also suffering advanced disease or extensive pneumonia, they added.
She was admitted on June 21 at a corporate hospital and her swab was sent for test on Wednesday; the woman was shifted to Gandhi hospital after her samples tested positive for swine flu.
State Chief Coordinator, Swine Flu Chest Hospital, Dr K Subhakar said there was no need to shift the patient as several corporate Hospitals have been identified to treat such cases. The government is convening a meeting on Friday seeking positive support of corporate hospitals.
He also said four samples were tested of which one was confirmed positive.
Meanwhile, Health officials said that eight cases have been reported in Visakhapatnam and are kept in isolation ward and undergoing treatment.
