Shillong: An Indian Air Force sergeant's wife allegedly committed suicide after hanging two minor daughters in the official quarter at Eastern Air Command in Shillong.
Twenty-six-year-old Parveen Akhtar, wife of Sergeant Shamim Akhtar, hanged her two daughters Samita (5) and Sania (3) and later committed suicide on Friday, the police said.
The trio was found dead when Sergeant Akhtar came home from office, the police said.
There was no suicide note and the police said the post-mortem of the bodies could throw some light into the incident.
The family hailed from Bihar, sources said.
