I'm a graduate from 'Harvard University', says disgraced doctor

Mumbai: Disgraced self-professed doctor Munir Khan gave a statement to the Versova Police in Mumbai where he gave details of how he started his business of manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines and gained fame before the law finally caught up with him.

In his statement, the 60-year-old Khan said he completed an MA in economics from the Harvard College in Rajasthan, before setting out to assist his brother, who worked as a contractor, in 1996. Around this time, he claims, he hit upon the idea of using the ancient system of Ayurveda to heal the sick.

After finding success in treating patients in Kota, he decided to move to Mumbai in 1999. He bought herbs from Masjid Bunder, which he would grind and add to honey. Khan claims he was featured in a city morninger twice, which contributed to his business' growth.

Khan also claims to have done a course in naturopathy from an institute in the western suburbs and that he is a member of the Central Research Institute of Medical Science, Mumbai.

In his statement, Khan says that he got the requisite permissions to start a company called Body Revival in 2008 with its factory in Rajasthan. He says he manufactured medicines there with the assistance of two Ayurveda doctors.

Khan, who has been remanded in judicial custody till June 3 and is lodged in Arthur Road Jail, denied any wrongdoing and said people benefited from his treatment.
