Infosys employee held in connection with wife's murder

Bangalore: The IT city is stunned. The murder of Priyanka Gupta has sent shockwaves across Bangalore. And now the arrest of her husband for her death has come as yet another jolt.

Priyanka was found murdered in her flat on Tuesday, her throat slit.

Her husband Satish Gupta - an Infosys employee - claimed he knew nothing and had been out for a morning jog at the time.

Satish also claimed that when he was out, Priyanka called and asked him if he had sent two people to the house with some papers to which he said no to her and continued with his jog and played badminton. When he returned home he found her body.

Rs 2 lakh were also missing from the house.

The police say they began suspecting Satish when they found that not only was around Rs 30,000 found lying next to, her jewellery was untouched. Clearly, robbery was not the motive.

Sources tell NDTV the police suspect that martial dispute was the reason behind the murder and that investigators feel they have enough circumstantial evidence to nail Satish for his wife's murder.
