Medininagar, Jharkhand:
Four persons, including a jailor and a doctor, were on Wednesday injured when a group of jail inmates beat them up inside the Central Jail in Palamau's headquarters town of Medininagar, a government official said.
"Jailor Mohammad Israel suffered injuries in his leg while Dr Vijay Shankar Razak was beaten up severely on the waist," said Sub-divisional Magistrate Sudhir Kumar Das.
Sepoy Vijay Singh was admitted to a hospital with head injuries, he said. An inmate, Upendra Singh, was also among the injured.
The police filed an FIR against eight inmates in connection with the incident.
The inmates resorted to violence after one of the inmates, having no health problems, demanded admission to the medical room inside the jail, the official said.
