Jaipur:
Just a day after DNA reported the shameful state of rising crime against children, a minor studying in class VIII was allegedly abducted and raped in Semlia village of Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan. The girl went missing since October 5. After returning to her parents on Wednesday, she revealed that a neighbour raped her for a week.
Police said accused Gopal Lal allegedly abducted her and left the girl back on Wednesday. The parents of the victim have registered a complaint of molestation and abduction.
"The parents told us that though the girl returned home on Wednesday, who went missing since October 5, she said that the accused had raped her for at least a week," an investigating officer told DNA on Thursday. "They have lodged a case against Gopal Lal who is also living the same locality of the village where the girl lives," an investigating officer added.
"Prime facie it seems to be a case of abduction only but we will also refer the girl for medical examination to ascertain if she was raped or not. Teams have been sent to nab the accused," a senior police officer of Chittorgarh district said. In a similar case of crime against minors, a three-and-a-half-year-old girl was molested and murdered in Durgapura locality of Jaipur on Wednesday.
