Jajpur:
A businessman was shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Upper Baruan village under Sadar police station of Odisha's Jajpur district, police said today.
Two unknown miscreants came on a motor cycle and opened fire on Shaik Sajan from close range in front of his house yesterday and fled, superintendent of police, Jajpur, Deepak Kumar said.
Sajan, who sustained bullet injuries on his chest, was rushed to the district headquarters hospital and the doctor declared him brought dead, he said.
Meanwhile, police had launched a manhunt in the area to nab the assailants and all entry and exit points sealed with massive raids conducted at different places, he said.
Business rivalry is suspected to be the reason behind the murder.
