Jalandhar: A man was yesterday arrested for allegedly raping his wife, who has been living separately since filing of a divorce petition, in Karatarpur area of the district, police said.
According to a complaint filed by the woman on Monday, her husband barged into her house on September 7 and raped her. The woman told police that a divorce case was pending in a local court and since filing of the case she has been living separately.
A police officer said the accused, Nirmal Singh, has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC and arrested based on the complaint.
