Jalandhar, Punjab:
Two persons, including a child, were killed on Monday while 36 others were injured in a road accident in Jamsher village, police said.
The incident occurred when the driver of a mini truck, in which at least 34 persons were travelling, lost his control over steering the vehicle in a bid to save a motorcycle rider, they said.
Kamjeet Kaur (34) and her minor daughter Palak died on the spot, while the injured people were admitted to Government Hospital in Jalandhar, they said.
The truck was carrying devotees from Amritsar to Kana Dhesia, police said.
