The car owner, who was traced later, was also interrogated by the police. He is yet to be given a clean chit.
On the other hand, the police are also investigating the Indian Mujahideen(IM) angle in the case. A threat email was allegedly sent by the terrorist group on Sunday. The mail has been traced to Mumbai and the police are now looking for four IM operatives who are believed to be involved in the planning and execution of the incident.
So was it a terror attack?
"It's too early to say anything...We're looking at all possibilities...We're not ruling out anything at the moment..." said Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal.
But, even as more than 24 hours have passed, police have failed to make any breakthrough. The gunmen are still at large.
