Jammu: Ten government school teachers in Poonch district were suspended for allegedly remaining absent from duty, Education department officials said on Friday.
The decision was taken following a surprise visit by Chief Education Officer Abdul Hamid to various schools in Sakhi Maidan, Mankote, Uchad and Magyal villages at Mendhar tehsil of the district, they said.
The teachers were also served show case notices by Zonal Education Officer, they added.
