Dhanbad:
A joint police operation has been launched by Dhanbad and Burdwan police to trace the senior executive of a Dhanbad Hotel, who went missing while on his way to Kolkata from Dhanabd on Saturday, a senior police officer said today.
"A joint operation with Burdwan police has been launched between Dhanbad-Kolkata to trace the whereabouts of Uday Shankar Chanda, executive director of Skylark hotel," Dhanbad Superintendent of Police R K Dhan said.
The family members of Chanda including his son Rahul today met the Superintendent of Police of Burdwan, Humayun Kabir and said they have not received any ransom calls and are fully cooperating with the police.
The Burdwan SP said all the police stations in the district have been sent photographs of Chanda and his driver and asked to intensify search.
Chanda went missing on Saturday while he was on way to Kolkata from Dhanbad in his car. He had last spoken to his family over phone when he was in Asansol in Burdwan district on the way to Kolkata.
Since then, he and the car's driver has gone missing and their cell phones switched off.
