Kanpur:
A day after a Class VI student died allegedly after being raped in her school, police on Tuesday took into custody 11 staff members, including the principal of the private institution which has been sealed.
According to DIG Prem Prakash, Bharatiya Gyan Sthali School has been sealed. Though no arrests have been made so far, the lady principal, a class teacher and nine other staff members of the institution are being questioned in connection with the alleged rape of the 12-year-old girl.
The manager of the school and some other members are absconding after the incident and efforts were on to trace them, he said.
The girl's mother, who works in a mall, had on Monday received a call from the school that her daughter had been sent to home along with two women staff as she was not well.
After the call, she rushed to her house at Roshan Nagar and found that her daughter was bleeding profusely.
The girl's clothes were changed and her blood stained school uniform was found in her bag.
She was rushed to a hospital where she died due to excessive bleeding, police said.
The post mortem report of the girl indicated excessive bleeding due to unnatural sex as the cause behind the death of the 12-year-old girl, police said.
After her mother approached the police, a team was rushed to the school, however, it was locked and all employees had left by then. The police broke open the lock and found blood
stains in a classroom.
DIG Prem Prakash said an FIR was registered on Tuesday following a complaint by the victim's mother and a case under Section 302 (murder) and Section 376 (rape) have been registered against an unidentified person.
