Kingfisher flight cleared for take-off after bomb scare

Lucknow-bound Kingfisher flight was cleared for take-off late on Thursday evening after bomb scare. The Mumbai-Lucknow flight departed at 10:19 pm.

However, cargo is being left behind as a safety precaution.

Earlier, no explosives and chemicals was found on the Mumbai-Lucknow flight, which was grounded at the Mumbai airport after a  bomb scare on Thursday evening.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) cleared the aircraft for takeoff followed by frisking and checking of baggage and passengers by airport authorities.

All the 166 passengers on board were taken off the plane and it was moved to the isolation bay for checking.

The Kingfisher flight IT-3149 was taxiing for take-off when an anonymous call was received about a plan to bomb the plane.

The call was later traced to a public call office (PCO) in suburban Mumbai.

The flight, IT-3149 was scheduled to take off from the Mumbai's domestic airport at 1645 hours when the call came.
