Kolkata:
The death toll in the fire at Kolkata's Stephen Court building has gone up to 43, with 6 more bodies being recovered on Monday.
Officials say that while they were expecting the death toll to stabilise at 37, these bodies could be of migrant workers whose families may not be in regular touch.
Five bodies were recovered from the fifth floor of the fire ravaged building. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation says they are in the last stages of removing the debris from the fifth and the sixth floors of the Stephen Court building, and that the removal work is likely to end on Monday evening.
Bengal government sets up an 11 member committee to investigate the causes of the Stephen Court fire. The report is to be submitted within 90 days.
