Baripada, Odisha: A leopard strayed into Udala town in Mayurbhanj district, injuring three persons before returning to Similipal sanctuary early today, a forest official said.
Forest guards throughout last night had tried to net the leopard which hid inside a private farm house since yesterday after injuring three persons but the animal could not be caught, Baripada DFO Sanjay Kumar Swain said.
"However, its pug marks outside the farm house area were detected which made us to conclude that the animal had escaped to nearby forest area of Similipal sanctuary this morning," he said.
