Puducherry:
A 27-year-old woman was seriously injured when a bomb exploded in her house near here today, police said.
They said the woman, who is the daughter of a retired employee of a textile mill here, had reportedly received a phone call earlier and received the parcel in which the bomb was allegedly packed.
On opening it, the bomb exploded, police said.
Police said cases had been registered under Indian Explosives Act and also under Indian Penal Code.
Investigation centred on whether the parcel was received from any courier company or was delivered by any outsider to the girl, they said.
The asbestos sheet above the ceiling in the room was smashed and thrown off under the impact of the blast.
The woman has been admitted to hospital.
