Shirdi/Indore:
The police has added more security guards at the famous Sai Baba temple in Shirdi and at the home of Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai after an anonymous letter warned of bomb blasts at both places on November 9.
Mr Thackeray is the president of the Shiv Sena.
"The anonymous letter, written in Hindi, has also threatened to set off explosions on the same day at a local Shiv Sena office, Shiv Sena Bhawan at Dadar in Mumbai, the residence of Thackerays, 'Matoshree', the place of cremation of Bal Thackeray on Shivaji Park ground in Mumbai, besides famous Khajrana Ganesh temple in Indore," said Ajay More, a member of the trust that runs the Shirdi temple.
Employees at the temple have been banned temporarily from carrying cellphones in and around the shrine.
"The Shirdi Trust handed over the letter to us yesterday. We have formed two teams to investigate the matter and also increased security at the temple," said police officer Raosaheb Shinde.
Police sources said that through they believe the letter is a hoax, they will not take any chances given the huge crowds that are visiting temples in the festival season.
