Greater Noida:
A liquor addict allegedly bet on his wife after losing all his valuables in gambling in Kulesra area, police said on Wednesday.
Lala had lost valuables and cash during gambling at Nangla Charan Das village and when he had nothing else left, he bet on his wife and lost her too, they said.
Lala went to fetch his wife from home but she somehow managed to escape and reached her parents' house in Bulandshahar.
She lodged a complaint at the police station on Wednesday but an FIR was not lodged till late evening due to jurisdictional dispute among three police stations.
Lala told the police he was in an inebriated condition and was not sure if he had put his wife as a bet.
