A man, who allegedly had a live-in relationship with a divorced woman, was arrested on the charge of raping her repeatedly, police said on Tuesday.
Neeraj Yadav, hailing from Rajasthan's Alwar district, was produced before a court which sent him to 14-day judicial custody.
The 26-year-old woman had lodged a complaint with the Model Town police accusing Yadav of criminally assaulting her while maintaining a live-in relationship with her.
A case of rape and criminal intimidation was registered against the man following the complaint, police said.
The woman, who is pregnant, was medically examined, police said adding she is a resident of Krishna Nagar locality here.
The woman, in her complaint, said she started living with Yadav after he gave an assurance that he would marry her in due course.
When she became pregnant and asked him to tie the knot, Yadav dithered leaving her in the lurch, the divorcee alleged.
