Pune:
Tired of his constant phone calls and demands to get married, a woman in Pune lodged a police complaint against an executive of a private loan agency.
The accused, 25-year-old Sudhakar Anandrao Lakade was arrested after the police went through his mobile phone call records and SMS details.
According to the complainant, the harassment had been on for six months.
"I was a guarantor for my brother and had given the private loan agency my contact number. Lakade, an executive there, started calling me and making small talk. After a point the calls got annoying. He would want to meet me and even tried to pressurise me to marry him," said the woman.
The complainant said Lakade used obscene language and sent her lewd messages.
PSI Prasad Sanas, the officer investigating the case, said that tracing Lakade was a difficult task. "Initially, we had arrested another person in connection with the case but realised that the SIM card was bought in his name.
After cross checking with his mobile tower location, we realised that he was not involved in the case. We then tracked Lakade from his tower location. He was arrested on Wednesday night," said Sanas.
Officers also confirmed that after scrutinising Lakade's call records, it was found that he had also sent obscene messages to another woman.
Lakade was produced in court on Friday and remnaded to magisterial custody.
