Lucknow: First triple, then double murder

Lucknow: First triple, then double murder
Lucknow: Lucknow woke up to a triple murder on Friday morning. An elderly couple and their teenage grand daughter killed with a sharp weapon, perhaps when they were still asleep.

Bodies of Rajab Ali, his wife Zahida Parveen and granddaughter Sana Parveen were found lying on the same bed and had repeatedly been hit with a sharp instrument.

Shaheen cannot believe her daughter is no more.

The motive is not yet clear but police suspect it's perhaps a family dispute involving the couple's other daughter-in-law who lives in Allahabad and is seeking a divorce.

"We are looking into the robbery angle also but the facts emerging are indicative of a probable animosity," said KL Meena, IG Lucknow zone.

A few hours later in the afternoon another double murder was reported. A mother and her teenage daughter were strangled with a chain.

The father, who's a mason, was involved in a property dispute worth several lakhs with his brother who the police say had been harassing the family for the last two years.

Five murders, barely hours apart, has left the city shocked. What's even more shocking is that the prime suspects in both cases are close relatives of the victims.
