Lucknow:
A government employee on Tuesday allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of the Uttar Pradesh secretariat, housing Chief Minister Mayawati's office, police officials said.
The victim, Anil Kumar Srivastava, posted at the office of the Chief Secretary, was said to be mentally disturbed over his illness.
Srivastava, a class IV employee, reached the secretariat this morning. He also held a discussion over delay in payment of his medical reimbursement with some colleagues before he took the extreme step, they said.
Senior police officials have rushed to the spot and are probing the incident.
