Shahdol:
Congress MP Rajesh Nandini Singh's personal security guard was attacked last evening by three men while he was on his way to Amarkantak.
The reason behind the attack is not known yet, the police said, adding that the attackers have been arrested.
Later, the Congress MP took the security guard, Lal Pratap Singh (46), to Rajendragram Health Centre for treatment from where he was referred to the Shahdol district hospital.
All the three accused who chased the MP's vehicle from Basania village overtook it and forced it to stop, the police said.
When Singh got down from the vehicle, they beat him mercilessly and fled the spot.
Inspector General of Police Ved Prakash Sharma said all the accused identified as Gyan Singh, Santosh Singh and Sanjay Singh are being questioned by the police.
Congress leaders including Shahdol district Congress president and Neeraj Dwivedi demanded a high-level probe into the incident.
