Mumbai:
Four security guards have been suspended for allowing a private taxi to breach basic security regulations at the Mumbai airport this morning.
A private cab was spotted speeding on one of the taxiways near the runway. The driver was 21-year-old Manisha Pawar. The taxi service she works for provides a women-only service.
Pawar has told authorities that she was at the International airport when she received a phone call stating a taxi was needed for a passenger at the domestic airport.
In their defense, Mumbai airport officials state that they noticed the taxi following a catering truck that was entering the restricted area. They alerted CISF guards on duty at the airport.
Pawar says because she was not familiar with the route she was meant to take, she followed the catering truck.
