Malda:
Fake Indian notes with face value of Rs 5 lakh were seized from a man coming from Bangladesh at the border village of Mahadipur in Malda district, police said today.
Acting on an information, policemen met Rabiul Islam (21) as clients as he had brought the fake notes from across the border to encash them in the village and its vicinity, last night, Superintendent of Police Prasun Bandyopadhyay said.
Islam, a resident of Jainpur village of Malda district, was carrying notes in the denominations of Rs 1000 and Rs 500, he said.
