West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today left for Darjeeling to launch a clean and green programme in the hills tomorrow.
"I am going to Darjeeling to launch a clean and green Darjeeling programme tomorrow," Ms Banerjee told reporters at the NSC Bose International Airport here before leaving for Bagdogra. Ms Banerjee said that 50,000 toilets would be built in the hill district under this programme.
"The programme is a joint initiative of the district administration and GTA," the chief minister said.
The Chief Minister is also scheduled to attend a meeting of the Tribal Advisory Council in Darjeeling on August 26 before returning here the following day.
