A 32-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front an Agra-bound goods train near Kotban this evening.
"We are trying to ascertain the actual cause of the suicide through the mobile of the deceased and by other means," SP (Rural) Arun Kumar Singh said.
He arrived by car near Kotban and had a chat with another person before taking the extreme step.
"After that he jumped before the Agra-bound goods train coming from Delhi between Kosi and Hodal stations of NER," police said, adding he died on the spot.
He has been identified as Nimit Kumar of Kalkaji area in Delhi and Director of Roni Finance Company, they said.
"No suicide note has been recovered from the possession of deceased," police said.
Meanwhile, mobile of the deceased, stuck in the engine of the train, was handed over to railway authorities at Kosi Kalan station.
"The body has been sent for post mortem," they added.
