Rourkela:
A man was arrested for alleged torture and dowry-related death of his wife in Madhusudanpally area of the steel city, police said today.
Padman Pallai was allegedly torturing his wife Jayanti for more money, the police said.
Jayanti, fed up with her husband's behaviour , took poison on Wednesday and died at Ispat General Hospital on Friday.
Jayanti's father filed a complaint with woman police station here alleging that torture for more dowry led to his daughter's suicide, police said.
Jayanti's father has also alleged that his son-in-law and other family members had been torturing her with demands for more money.
Padman was arrested yesterday and investigation was on, they said.
