Thane:
Two days after an 11-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Mumbai, a 26-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly committing the crime.
Bhagat Singh was arrested from the Titwala railway station in suburban Thane today morning. He will be produced in court later today.
Singh allegedly kidnapped the minor girl - his neighbour - while she was returning home from her tuition classes. He then raped her in his flat. Later, he killed her and wrapped her body in a bed sheet and threw it in the building compound.
The police have registered offences under sections 363, 376, 302, 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused.
