Muzaffarnagar:
Apparently depressed over a family dispute, a man set his son on fire and attempted to end his life at Nuna Kheri village in the district, police said. Jaikaran Kashyap set his seven-year-old son on fire and then tried to commit suicide in a similar way, they said.
While the boy died, Kashyap sustained serious burns and was hospitalised.
In another incident, 22-year-old Gurdeep Singh, a class 12 student, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in his house at Mahalki village in the district on Friday.
Singh was upset over his poor performance in mathematics in the board exam.
