A man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence, police said.
35-year-old Randeep Singh, married for the last 13 years, took the extreme step yesterday at his New Vishwakarma Nagar residence here, police said.
For the past two years, Randeep and his wife Narinder Kaur were living separately. Acting on a complaint by Randeep's father, Moga police has registered a case of abetment to suicide against Kaur, her two brothers and her sister-in-law.
Kaur had been living with her parents and had also taken away the couple's 10-year-son.
Randeep Singh was in shock following the incident, his father has alleged in his complaint.
On Friday, Kaur along with her brothers had arrived at Randeep's residence and allegedly threatened to take all domestic articles, including dowry articles, with her.
Randeep's father alleged that his son could not tolerate the mental torture and took the extreme step.
