Ajmer:
Making mockery of the security arrangements at the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, in Ajmer, a sword-wielding man allegedly barged into the shrine during the wee hours on Thursday and attacked a few zayrins (pilgrims) there.
Four zayrins were injured after the youth attacked them with a sword. The youth was later arrested by the police.
According to the police, at around 2.30 am on Thursday when the Khadims and over a dozen pilgrims were sleeping, they spotted a youth with a red scarf on his hand barging into the shrine.
"Before the resting men could understand, the youth injured them with his sword. He was looking mentally ill. Soon we informed the Dargah police station and a police team arrested him," Qutabuddhin Saki, a Khadim at the shrine told DNA over phone from Ajmer.
After breaching the 12 feet wall near the shrine's Jhalra Gate, the youth entered the shrine with a sword.
Later, security was beefed up in and around the dargah.
Meanwhile the Anjuman Committee, the union of the khadims expressed their annoyance over the incident.
