Cuttack: A roadside eatery owner was found dead near Matagajpur railway station in Odisha's Cuttack under Madhupatna police station, police said today.
45-year-old Laxman Pani, who was inside the food joint, was found lying in a pool of blood when his wife came looking for him yesterday after making calls to him without getting any reply, police said.
The victim had several deep cuts in his body leading the police to suspect that he was stabbed repeatedly.
"We are investigating the matter with the help of a scientific team and are hopeful of detecting the perpetrators soon," said city DCP S Praveen Kumar.
Laxman had arranged a loan of Rs 70,000 recently to renovate his makeshift eatery, sources said.
