In a bizarre incident a man who hacked his wife to death at the Danpur Patdi village of the Dahod district in Gujarat was later killed by his son in a fit of rage, police said on Saturday.
"Irked over not cooking food and tying the pets, Manna Tadvi, a resident of the Danpur Patdi village hacked his wife Visli (55) to death with an axe," they said.
Mana's son Arjun had gone out for some work when the incident took place. On returning home, the son asked his father as to why he killed her. On coming to know that his mother was killed over a trivial issue, Arjun in a fit of rage attacked his father with an axe and hit him twice on the back, injuring him seriously, they said.
Manna was rushed to hospital for treatment, but the blows were so severe that he succumbed to his injuries, according to police.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
