Pune: The Nigdi police on Friday arrested a 45-year-old man, who allegedly raped his 18-year-old married daughter in the Triveninagar slums several times. The victim registered a complaint at Nigdi police station.
According to the Nigdi police, the victim, who is married to a 22-year-old worker of a Bhosari factory, originally hails from Osmanabad and arrived in Pune a few months ago.
The police said the father arrived in the city early on Friday ostensibly to meet his daughter. However, after his son-in-law left for work, he raped his daughter many times. The victim narrated the incident to her husband in the evening.
According to the complaint registered by the victim, her father had attempted to rape her when she was a schoolgirl in Osmanabad. He assaulted her mother regularly and had a mistress.
